"This is the end of the transposing of letters that I sent home to Jan and Joa.  I’m not really sure why the letters stopped at this point, but this is all there are.  I had my own personal journal that I also kept and I have written the stories included here from that journal.  Obviously, the journal was much more detailed as far as the misery of the field was concerned.  Maybe I didn’t want people back home to worry about me."
